We are delighted to be able to announce that one of our Board Members, Josie Smith, was the proud recipient of the annual Helen McGregor Award at a ceremony held on 30th October 2010 at St Andrews. This award recognises the work carried out by voluntary Committee Members of Housing Associations across Scotland and Josie did well to lay claim to it, against very stiff and able competition.

Having been involved in housing as a volunteer since 1990, with no knowledge of housing issues and no employment prospects, she has worked her way through Chairing Glenfield then Glen Housing Association and studying to obtain a BA in Healthcare, Leadership and Management and employment as a Volunteer Co-ordinator with the NHS, allowing her to put her personal experience of what you get out of volunteering to good use.
